Reconstruction of a Mirror I Hidden Faces: Covered Portraits
of the Renaissance I The Metropolitan Museum of Art
This video was created for Hidden Faces: Covered Portraits of the Renaissance at The Met and presents a reconstruction of the Tabernacle Mirror Frame, showing its shutters sliding open. The hypothetical reconstruction incorporates Alessandro Allori’s Portrait of Bianca Capello and Allegory of Human Life.
To create the video, individual photographs of each mirror component were captured and then composited using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects to visualize how the mirror may have appeared and functioned.
