Cowgirl Trading Cards (2021)
These prints continue to play with notions of femininity and masculinity first seen in the Big Car Girl prints. The prints were created with the idea of mimicking baseball cards usually given to young boys to play with. Rather than depicting different baseball players, these prints show different cowgirls. Not only does each print showcase an other kind of cowgirl to be “traded for”, but it also includes a horseshoe emblem to verify the authenticity of each card. The prints were created using laser-cut woodblocks, plexiglass monotype, and pronto plates.
